The Medical Office Assistant career is in high demand by employers and is projected to be growing by 24% (1,140 projected job openings in New York State and 26,210 projected job openings in the US ) through the year 2024.

A successful Medical Office Assistant requires clinical and administrative medical skills. There are a variety of medical job settings and titles to match the skills taught, not just in the Rochester area, but anywhere in the country.

Course content will focus on professionalism in the medical environment, medical terminology, medical assisting techniques, coding/billing and documenting a patient’s vital signs and medical history. In addition, this program will include introductory Microsoft Office applications, general office skills, customer service/communication techniques, phone/email etiquette, as well as Employment Skills Development.

Students who successfully complete our program have secured employment in positions such as medical biller, coder, access associate, health information clerk, medical office assistant, patient care technician, medical collections, medical secretary, administrative coordinator and others.

Class Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.; 600 hours/20 weeks, includes a 4-week work-based experience
